BOUND TO BLOOM

Clubhouse Social Skills Group

Bound to Bloom offers a dynamic 4 -week program designed for children with special needs to connect, grow, and thrive. Held on Saturdays, our clubs are thoughtfully structured around three exciting themes:
  • Social Skills and Academics: Strengthen communication, teamwork, and self-confidence through engaging activities that support both social growth and academic success.
  • Community Inclusion Excursions: Encourage independence and social skills through engaging local outings that foster real-world connections.
  • STEM & Art: Ignite creativity and curiosity with hands-on science, technology, engineering, and math projects paired with expressive arts and crafts.

At the heart of Bound to Bloom is the dedication of our highly trained ABA therapists, who carefully design evidence-based activities that are also creative, fun, and engaging. Our team works to create a supportive and inclusive environment where children can play, learn, and interact with peers while building essential skills like communication, socialization, and independence.

From interactive group games to hands-on learning projects, community outings, and fitness sessions, every moment at camp is an opportunity for growth and joy. Join us at Bound to Bloom, where preparation, passion, and play come together to create a place to BLOOM.

Social Skills Club

The Clubhouse Social Skills Group at Bound to Bloom provides students with the opportunity to interact with age-appropriate peers through structured activities, guided instruction, and games. Led by an experienced special education teacher and BCBA, the program focuses on building friendships while improving communication, social skills, and academic performance in a supportive environment.

The program includes daily routines such as a Morning Meeting to reinforce structure and group communication, as well as a Check-In to support emotional regulation and peer interaction.

Students will receive targeted instruction in Math, focusing on skills such as counting, addition and subtraction, base ten concepts, money, and time. In Language Arts, students will engage in differentiated reading activities, work on writing sight words and sentences, and develop comprehension skills.

If your child is an Augmentative and Alternative Communication (AAC) systems user, they will be encouraged to communicate through modeling and role-play during group activities, allowing them to use their communication systems effectively in social situations. This approach supports the development of both verbal and non-verbal communication skills in a natural, interactive environment. Communication boards are available in the clubhouse to ensure that all students can express their needs and interact with peers in a variety of ways, promoting inclusive communication for every child.

Parents will see their children not only strengthen their academic skills but also gain confidence in social interactions, communication, and cooperative play. Our Clubhouse Social Club program creates an enriching, well-rounded experience that combines fun with meaningful learning.

Community Inclusion Program

The Community Inclusion Program at Bound to Bloom offers students the opportunity to engage in real-world learning experiences within the Holly Springs community. Students will visit locations such as the library, farmers market, restaurants, and more. These outings provide valuable opportunities for students to develop independence, social skills, and confidence while participating in meaningful, hands-on activities.

All students will be encouraged to practice communication skills, whether verbally or through AAC systems, to ensure they are able to communicate their needs and interact effectively in a variety of real-life situations. This approach fosters the development of communication skills in multiple forms, promoting inclusion and independence for every participant.

STEM & Art Class

Unleash creativity and curiosity in Bound to Bloom’s Art and STEM Class! This dynamic program offers students the opportunity to engage in hands-on projects that foster creativity, critical thinking, and problem-solving. Through art, students will explore self-expression, while STEM activities provide an exciting, structured way to develop analytical skills and innovation. Each project is designed to meet the diverse learning needs of the students through differentiated instruction.

STEM projects include engaging, interactive activities such as:

  • Mix It Together Modeling Dough: Students will experiment with different materials to explore properties and create unique sculptures.
  • How Can We Stop Erosion?: Students will explore environmental science concepts by testing different methods to prevent erosion in a controlled setting.
  • Animal Tracks: Using observation and analysis, students will investigate animal tracks and learn about the creatures that left them.
  • Gum Drop Tower: Students will apply engineering principles to construct towers using gumdrops and toothpicks, fostering teamwork and design thinking.

Each STEM activity incorporates visual aids and provides a step-by-step walkthrough of the scientific method in a fun and engaging way. Students will make hypotheses, conduct experiments, and analyze their results to determine whether their predictions were correct. At the end of each project, students will present their findings, reinforcing communication skills and boosting confidence as they share their scientific discoveries.

In addition, each STEM project includes an art activity component to promote learning in a variety of ways. These activities allow students to creatively express their understanding of scientific concepts, providing a well-rounded approach to learning that integrates both artistic and scientific thinking.

This class is designed to cultivate a love for learning while promoting academic growth, creativity, and teamwork in an interactive, supportive environment.

In addition, each STEM module will feature different experiments, ensuring a fresh and exciting learning experience. The program website will be regularly updated to reflect the latest experiments and activities, providing up-to-date information for parents and students.

BLOOM Presentations

At the end of each session, students will have the exciting opportunity to present their experiences and accomplishments to their parents during a special BLOOM Presentation. These presentations highlight the growth and achievements of each student in key areas of the program, showcasing their progress in communication, social skills, academics, STEM, art and personal development.

This celebratory event provides a meaningful opportunity for parents and peers to witness the hard work and success of each child. It fosters a supportive and positive environment where students can confidently share their accomplishments, reinforcing their self-esteem and communication skills. The BLOOM Presentation is a chance for students to celebrate their journey and for families to see the tangible results of their efforts.
